About the Organization:
The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Recruitment Board (APMSRB) is responsible for recruiting qualified medical professionals for various government medical colleges and healthcare institutions in Andhra Pradesh. The board is inviting applications for the post of Assistant Professor in Super Specialties through Direct Recruitment (DR) and Lateral Entry (LE).
Vacancy Details:
- Total Vacancies: 146 (Specialty-wise and institution-wise details are provided in Annexure I of the notification).
- Specialties:
- Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, CT Surgery, Neurosurgery, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- Essential:
- PG Degree (DNB/DM/MCH) in the concerned Super Specialty from institutions recognized by MCI/NMC.
Age Limit:
- OC Candidates: Not more than 42 years as of the notification date.
- EWS/SC/ST/BC Candidates: Not more than 47 years as of the notification date.
- Differently Abled Candidates: Not more than 52 years as of the notification date.
- Ex-Servicemen: Not more than 50 years as of the notification date.
Pay Scale:
- Salary: As per the 7th UGC Pay Scale (₹68,900 – ₹2,05,500) with a Super Specialty Allowance of ₹30,000/-.
Selection Process:
Direct Recruitment (DR):
- Merit-Based Selection:
- 75 Marks: Based on PG/Super Specialty degree marks or grades.
- 10 Marks: Weightage for years since passing the qualifying exam (1 mark per year).
- 5 Marks: Weightage for candidates who completed PG/Super Specialty from Central Institutions.
- 15 Marks: Weightage for contract service in government institutions (up to 15 marks).
Lateral Entry (LE):
- Eligibility:
- Assistant Professors in broad specialties or Civil Assistant Surgeons (CAS) working in the Directorate of Medical Education, Public Health, or Secondary Health (APVVP).
- Candidates must be approved probationers or have completed probation.
- Selection: Based on merit and rank given during their initial recruitment.

- Walk-in Recruitment:
- Candidates must attend the walk-in recruitment on 24th March 2025 from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM at:
- Office of the Director of Medical Education, Old GGH Campus, Hanuman Peta, Vijayawada.
- Application Fee:
- OC Candidates: ₹1,000/-
- BC/SC/ST/EWS/Differently Abled Candidates: ₹500/-
- Payment must be made online via UPI mode during the walk-in recruitment.
- Documents Required:
- Passport-size photo.
- SSC Certificate (proof of date of birth).
- Study Certificates (4th to 10th class).
- Intermediate Certificate.
- MBBS, PG, and Super Specialty Degree Certificates.
- AP Medical Council Registration Certificate.
- NOC from the appointing authority (for in-service candidates).
- Caste Certificate (if applicable).
- Disability Certificate (if applicable).
- Contract Service Certificate (if claiming weightage).
Important Notes:
- Local Candidature:
- Only local candidates (those who studied from 4th to 10th class in Andhra Pradesh) are eligible for Direct Recruitment.
- Non-local candidates are not eligible.
- In-Service Candidates:
- Candidates currently working in government service must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their appointing authority.
- Assistant Professors working in the same specialty are not eligible to apply.
- Contract Weightage:
- Candidates with contract service in government institutions can claim weightage up to 15 marks.
- COVID-19 duty weightage is also applicable (up to 15 marks).
- Reservation:
- Reservation rules as per Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules will apply.
