Job Description

Position: Assistant Director (Chemistry & Toxicology)
Department: Directorate of Forensic Services, Home Department, Himachal Pradesh
Number of Posts: 01 (Unreserved)
Employment Type: Contract Basis
Pay Scale: Level-21 (Rs. 67,400 – 2,01,200)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research, training, and analytical work in Chemistry, Toxicology, or allied fields.
• Oversee forensic examinations and ensure compliance with scientific protocols.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to provide expert insights.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for legal proceedings.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree (2nd Class) in Chemistry/Pharmacy/Forensic Science (specialization in Forensic Chemistry & Toxicology)/Biochemistry from a recognized university.
2. 7 years of post-M.Sc. experience in research, training, or analytical work in relevant fields.

Desirable Qualification:

• Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh’s customs, dialects, and local conditions.

Age Limit: 18–45 years (as of 01-01-2025). Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates per state norms.

Selection Process

1. Screening Test (CBT):
   • General Knowledge (HP, National, International) – 60 Marks
   • Hindi & English Language – 40 Marks
2. Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) – 120 Marks
3. Personality Test – 30 Marks
