About the Organization

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), is a premier institution for wildlife research and conservation. It supports the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) in selecting qualified professionals for critical roles in wildlife and biodiversity management.

Job Description

1. Scientific Consultant (Grade-I)

  • Number of Posts: 2
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Master’s degree in Natural Sciences (Wildlife Science/Zoology/Ecology/Environmental Sciences/Geoinformatics/Life Sciences) OR
    • BE/B.Tech in equivalent subjects.
    • 5+ years of experience in wildlife/biodiversity work.
  • Desirable:
    • Ph.D., research publications, expertise in GIS, AI, climate change (green credits, carbon markets), report writing, DPR preparation, and software tools (Canva/Photoshop).
  • Emoluments: ₹90,000/month
  • Age Limit: 40 years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per norms).

2. Young Professional Fellow

  • Number of Posts: 1
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Master’s degree in Natural Sciences (as above) OR BE/B.Tech.
    • 3–5 years of experience in wildlife/biodiversity.
  • Desirable:
    • Ph.D., research experience, GIS, content writing, social media management, and software proficiency.
  • Emoluments: ₹70,000/month
  • Age Limit: 32 years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on tiger landscapes, biodiversity, and climate change.
  • Prepare technical reports, DPRs, and policy briefs.
  • Utilize GIS, AI, and data management tools for conservation projects.
  • Engage in stakeholder collaboration and content creation (social media, videos).

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting Criteria (50 Marks):
    • UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/JRF/WII-NET: 5 Marks
    • Post-Graduation %: 25 Marks
    • Research Experience: 10 Marks
    • Publications: 10 Marks
  2. Interview: Top 10 shortlisted candidates per post.
