About the Position

The Despatch Rider role in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) ensures efficient document and parcel delivery within government offices. The Ministry has proposed revised Recruitment Rules (RRs) for this position to streamline qualifications and hiring processes.

Key Proposed Revisions

1. Eligibility Criteria:
   • Educational: Matriculation pass.
   • Skills:
     • Valid commercial driving license (scooter/motorcycle/auto rickshaw).
     • 2+ years of driving experience.
     • Basic vehicle repair knowledge.
     • Ability to read English and Hindi.
   • Age Limit: 25 years (relaxable up to 40 years for govt. employees/SCs/STs/OBCs).
2. Recruitment Methods:
   • Priority: Deputation/Absorption from existing Group ‘C’ employees.
   • Fallback: Direct recruitment (including Ex-Servicemen).
3. Probation: 2 years.
4. Disqualification: Polygamy (unless exempted under personal law).
