Job Description:

Role Overview:

The Internal Ombudsman (IO) will act as an independent authority to review customer grievances and ensure fair resolution in alignment with RBI’s Master Directions (2023). The role demands expertise in banking regulations, dispute resolution, and ethical oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grievance Redressal: Review and adjudicate customer complaints escalated beyond the bank’s internal mechanisms.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to RBI’s Internal Ombudsman guidelines and consumer protection norms.
  • Reporting: Directly report to the Executive Director (Customer Service) with unbiased findings.
  • Policy Advocacy: Recommend improvements in grievance handling processes to enhance customer trust.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Experience: Retired/serving officer (GM-rank equivalent) with 7+ years in banking/NBFCs/regulatory bodies.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 67 years as of 25.05.2025.
  • Exclusions: Candidates with major penalties/judicial inquiries or employment history with Punjab & Sind Bank are ineligible.

Terms & Benefits:

  • Tenure: 3 years (extendable to 5 years), subject to age cap of 70 years.
  • Remuneration: Fixed ₹1,00,000/month (pre-tax).
  • Perks:
    • Conveyance (GM-grade bank car).
    • Travel/halting allowances for outstation duties.
    • Mobile expense reimbursement (up to ₹1,000/month).
  • Leave: 12 days/year (max 4 days at a time).

Selection Process:

  • Interview: 100-mark evaluation (50+ marks to qualify).
  • Documents Required: NOC (for serving candidates), medical fitness report, and service records.
