Job Description

HPPSC invites applications for the position of Associate Professor (Psychiatry) at Dr. YSP Government Medical College, Nahan. The role involves teaching, research, and clinical supervision in Psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced lectures and training to postgraduate medical students in Psychiatry.
• Conduct and publish research in indexed national/international journals.
• Mentor junior faculty and contribute to curriculum development.
• Participate in departmental academic and administrative activities.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Essential Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree: Recognized qualification (MBBS + MD in Psychiatry/Psychological Medicine or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry (or 6 years combined as Lecturer + Assistant Professor, including 4 years post-MD).
• Age Limit: Up to 50 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates of HP).

Desirable Qualifications:

• Research publications in Index Medicus/National Journals (minimum 4) and International Journals (minimum 1).
• Familiarity with Himachal Pradesh’s cultural and linguistic context.

Selection Process:

• Direct Personality Test (Interview) for shortlisted candidates.
