The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is India’s premier biomedical research body. With 27 institutes and field stations nationwide, ICMR spearheads cutting-edge research in health and medicine.

Position Details

• Post: Head – Division of Reproductive, Child Health & Nutrition (RCN)
• Level: 14 (Pay Matrix: ₹1,44,200–2,18,200)
• Location: ICMR Headquarters, New Delhi
• Tenure: 5 years (extendable for another term)
• Last Date: 21-April-2025 (5:30 PM)

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:

1. Medical Candidates:
   • MD/MS (recognized by MCI/NMC) OR
   • MBBS + MPH (from a recognized university) OR
   • MBBS + Ph.D. in a relevant subject (see Annexure-I).
2. Non-Medical Candidates:
   • M.Sc + Ph.D. in subjects like Biochemistry, Nutrition, Public Health, etc.

Essential Experience:

• 15 years total, including:
  • 5 years in a managerial role (leading R&D projects/groups).
  • 2 years in Pay Level 13-A (or equivalent).
• Note:
  • Ph.D. counts as 4 years’ experience.
  • MD/MS counts as 3 years’ experience.

Age Limit:

• Maximum 58 years (relaxable as per Govt. rules).
