Position Details

  • Post: Principal (Non-Medical/Non-Education)
  • Pay Level: AL-14 (7th CPC)
  • Tenure: 5 years (extendable for another term based on performance)

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. Degree in a relevant discipline.
  2. 15+ years of teaching/research experience as Professor/Associate Professor in universities/colleges.
  3. Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals.
  4. Research Score: Minimum 110 points as per UGC regulations (see Annexure V for scoring methodology).

Age Limit:

  • As per University of Delhi norms (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD as per Govt. rules).

  2. Selection Committee: Includes:
    • Chairperson of Governing Body.
    • University nominees.
    • Academic experts.
  3. Criteria: Research score (110+), academic leadership, and interview performance.

Important Terms

  • Service Conditions: Governed by UGC/University of Delhi ordinances.
  • Return to Parent Organization: After tenure completion, the incumbent rejoins as Professor.
  • No TA/DA: Provided for interviews.
